Vacating my condo...question about water heater etc..

I am going to be moving out this week, but will continue to check up on it. I am turning off the electric and gas. I live in Las Vegas and it does not get too cold here... this week upper 50's. Would pipes, toilet, and water heater be okay once everything is shut off or should I drain them?

To be on the safe side drain them. You never know about the weather. Just as soon as you assume everything will be okay, Mother Nature will send a curve ball.

We just returned home from a trip to Galveston, Texas. Friday, December 4 the temperatures dipped down close to freezing with sleet. 30 miles north in Clear Lake, it was snowing. And in 2004, a Christmas Eve snowstorm gave everyone a White Christmas. Galveston is on the 29th Latitude, same as Jacksonville. Florida.

Now if your condo is part of a complex where you are an interior unit with other units on all sides of you, you might be okay. But still I wouldn't take any chances.

    Good luck to you!
