    code violation

anyone have any experience with moving out of home...well surrendering your home and then receiving a code violation for overgrown weeds on the side of the home? I moved out July 1st....Wells fargo took me to court on 9/15 but my attorney said i did not have to go so i did not. the suit was some kind of stay order having to do with foreclosure i guess. anyway, the code violation happened on 9/17 and i have ten days to clean up the weeds or i have given a fine per this letter that I recieved. I am wondering if I can just call the code violation officer and explain that i surrendered my home and don't live there anymore? any help on this would be great. thanks.

Until your name is removed from the deed, you are still liable for any code violations. Your name remains on the deed until the auction.
