Well I sent a letter to WF certified mail with my offer, I have the email from USPS showing who signed for it on Aug. 31. I called today and they have no record of it - BIG SURPRISE!!! Maybe it takes that long to route to the correct department? That was the excuse given to me. <heavy sigh> I'll fax the offer on Tuesday and see how that goes.

I can tell you about my experiences with them. I faxed up all my taxes, letter requesting a short sale, income, and etc it cost me 45.00 to fax it. Called them, and they did not get it. They wanted me to fax it again. So I sent it UPS with a signature required, they did not get that either even though it was signed for. So, I faxed it again, and they did not get it. After arguing with several people, I finally on my 4th call to them got someone with a brain and who was willing to work for a day. He found one of the faxes and forwarded them to the right dept. My realtor and the very same problems, 3 or 4 faxes for her with no one receiving the. The buyers gave up and bought another place. We lost our tennat, and requested a deed in lieu. We called several times, and kept receiving requests to complete our short sale request (geesh), and no one seemed to know what was going on with the deed in lieu. Then we got a letter from an attorney telling us that it was in their office and they were not trying to collect from us and we were under no penalty nor did we have to pay for anything to WF. After that we got another letter telling us we were now going to collection. We took the letter to our attorney last week, and he said they were getting ready to foreclose and a collection agency would now be hounding us. WF never called us to deny the deed in lieu. They were always very nice on the phone when you called that I can say in their favor. I will never deal with them again though. I have never even bounced a check so I will rebound after all of this, and they will never have my business again.

Thanks for your input Momisery. It sounds like you haven't gone thru BK and good for you!!! I'm hoping I will have better luck with WF since I didn't reaffirm either of my mortgages and if they want any money from the 2nd they will settle with me. Of course I'm not holding my breat - they could just let the lien sit there for the next 40-50 years, and if I die in the house what do I care... But I would really like to settle with them, but I'm not holding my breath. I would LOVE to hear from ANYONE who modified or settled a loan with WF successfully...is there ANYONE out there?!?!?!Filed C7: 03/09/09

Called WF again today...again, no recored of my certified letter...they asked me if I knew who signed for it, I said so and so since USPS had sent me an email with the signature. I was put on hold, she came back and said her Team Lead said they are going to check with the mail room and try to find it, and to call back tomorrow. I will call back and check tomorrow and then if there's again no record, I will fax <heavy sigh>Filed C7: 03/09/09

After calling again today and WF still not having my certified letter of offer, I faxed the settlement offer to them and called again three hours later. They actually received it and sent it to the settlement department!!! So step number one is completed.
I want to thank Justbroke for his reply in another thread. I said in my letter that I would settle for 10% with a full lien removal, but it's good to know the technical terms. To make sure that the lien is not given to a JBD after settlement and to make sure a Satisfaction of Mortgage is issued upon settlement.Filed C7: 03/09/09

Wells Fargo is the lien holder on my home equity loan. I called them after filing Ch7. They said they would let me reaffirm the loan, but they wouldn't renegotiate the terms while I was in bankruptcy. I then asked if they would allow me to simply pay-through on the loan. They said they would and sent a letter to verify that I wanted to voluntarily continue receiving monthly statements on the loan. I signed and returned it. I haven't had any problems with them so far, but it's early yet.09/28/2009: Filed Chapter 7 (Pro Se)
