    Digital Risk: Weird request?

I have no idea what this form is, but my employer got a letter from "Digital Risk: The Future of Risk Mitigation" along with it came a request for verification of employment with a fanniemae title block. And a second page with my original signature on it, but nothing else above it...

Its asking for income and employment status over the past 3 years and wants my employer to fill it all out and fax back ASAP!

I had my home surrendered in my BK and it has since been auctioned and gone. So is this something normal you get, or something to be ignored?

    It seems weird,

    Thank you.

Have you recently applied for a loan or credit of some sort?

They seem to be an information provider, and unless they are checking you for credit of some type, it is hard to believe they have a legitimate interest in you.

Perhaps you should call them and find out what they are up to.

Could be an identity theft issue here, if nothing else.

Poor targetting, on the criminal's part though, if you just finished a bk

No I have not applied for anything, wouldn't dare for a long time. The last page they faxed in with their official looking document had my signature on it. Very weird, not going to sign or have my employer report anything to them.

        Thanks for the contact information.

          One possibility:

If you defaulted on a second mortgage after reaffirming, might they attempt to garnish you, if they got a judgement?

Something stinks ever so slightly, if they are presenting your signature to your employer. Especially since your signature is on a BLANK sheet of paper.

All sorts of alarm bells are going off for me. I would look into Pacer and see if anyone has a judgement on you. I probably would pursue it very far.

Did this document ask for bank account information? It is possible they already have it.

Maybe I am too careful, but this looks potentially troublesome.

I never reaffirmed anything, both of the loans in the 80/20 were included in my filing. No one ever raised an eyebrow or challenged anything. I have since been discharged and case closed.

I don't see how they can now come after me for anything? Its illegal isn't it?

Did you possibly apply for a loan mod?

No, never went that route. Never tried to save it or work anything out. I should be protected right, if the 80/20 was included and discharged they cant magically come back after me?

Only when you are in Disneyland, where magic happens! Kidding! You are fine.

No reaffirmation, no chance of deficiency.

I would call DR and say "where the hell did you get my signature?"

That is the part that is scary.

                    Bastards

My friend was contacted by this same company. They tried to "service him important court documents". When he avoided them, they even went as far as to intimidate his grandmother. He is going to contact them this week and I'll let you know what happens. He thinks they are investigating inaccurate information during the closing process that could be used by the owner of the mortgage-backed security to force the originating lender to buy back the loan. It seems that some of their techniques are pretty shady though.

Your friend is probably right, it sounds like the loan has been selected for audit.
