Keys for cash after filing chp 7

So my question this time is............how do I go about getting keys for cash negotiated with my mortgage company after I filed chapter 7?

I have since found a place to rent finally! Will be moving in about 2 weeks. Just trying to get some more $$$ from First Horizon to help toward rent/deposit. First Horizon has allready filed to vacate automatic stay with the court so when will I be contacted next regarding the house?

Probably pretty close to the Trustee Sale day or the day ( depending on your state law) that the bank takes it back.


Since you are still the legal owner of record, they really can't do anything until then. I am pretty sure they won't/can't offer anything until they ( the lender) holds legal title to your home.


Basically they can't say, "hey, you have to move, even though you still own the house" They don't have a legal standing to do that.

I would expect a CFK offer fairly soon after they have officially foreclosed.


I suppose they could send a BPO agent around and possibly make an offer, contingent on the FC completing.

Everyone I have heard of here in CA, has had an offer after the TS date. But that doesn't mean that is always how it is, just my personal experience.


They can't officially evict you until they hold title and are legal owner of record, as again they have no legal standing to do so.
