Is there a website that you can look on to find the sheriff's auction site for your county? I live in jefferson county mo and I've searched and searched for one, but can't seem to find one. Is it possible some counties don't have one?

Going to your county's Sheriff site is the best way to know when foreclosures are happening. In my city......just my city alone.......I can view foreclosures up to May of this year. Then I can go to the county recorder's site and look up the deed info and look at what type of mortgage the homeowner had, how much they owed and what not.
I would assume that all counties would have a way to view upcoming and passed Sheriff Sales.Bankruptcy History:
Chapter 7 filed - 10/12/2005 - Asset
Discharged - 02/16/2006
Case Closed - 11/08/2007

BassBoy has some valuable information in his previous post. I did a ch 7, and did not reaffirm my mortgage. I let the house go after I could not keep up with the payments. I moved out in August 2008, yet, there has yet to be an eviction notice or any news with the status of my house. I did a search on my county recorder's site, and found out the auction DID take place. The deed was transferred from ME to the mortgage comapany. That occurred on Oct 8, 2008. I suppose the holdup now is that since this was an FHA loan, the mortgage company HAS to perform an eviction before it can transfer the deed to FHA. FHA can't and won't take the deed unless the house is unoccupied, however, FHA has offered to rent it to me. I haven't told my mortgage company I have already moved. They have sent statements "advancing" funds to cover the cost of taxes. I don't know if they insured it. I'm not planning on having anymore contact with the mortgage company. It's Citibank, BTW. I think Citibank is so messed up right now, they don't have the funds to finish these foreclosures. I should have stayed in the house, I'd have saved up about 6k by now, but, oh well. So, check your county recorder's website, you can learn alot there.
