    homestead exemption question

This may be the most obvious question ever asked, but we are filing Pro Se so I want to make sure I get this right...

If we are planning on surrendering our house, should I leave the house OFF the Schedule C?

'nother question, while I'm at it. What should be done about a hobbyist collection? i.e. baseball cards. My DH is a gamer geek with boxes upon boxes of trading card game cards and figurines. None of them are worth particularly much, even liquidated as a collection (couple hundred bucks, MAYBE), but there's not really an exemption category on either my state or the federal lists for this kind of thing. Do I just leave it as a "non-exempt" item and hope the trustee isn't interested?

If you are not going to use any exemptions for a property, then you don't list that property on Schedule C (Property Claimed As Exempt).

You would use a wildcard exemption for it. If your State provides a wildcard, just use the wildcard. If not, you may become an asset case.
