    Tennessee exemptions?

I just on another board a poster wrote that there is a $25000 homestead exemption in TN if there is a child in the home? Everything I have found online says $7500/ couple.

Does anyone have any info on this? We have about $35000 in equity so we have not filed. If the above is true that could really change things for us.

    TN Exemptions
$5,000; $7,500 for joint owners; $25,000 if at least one dependent is a minor child. (if 62 or older, 12,500 if single; $20,000 if married; $25,000 if spouse is also 62 or older)

Im still confused. Is that saying b/c we have minor children we get $25,000? Or do we have to be 62/ older w/ a minor child?

Because you have a minor child. My attorney stated that there is/was a push in TN to get this doubled to homestead of $50,000. We'll see..
