Ideally, for a married couple filling for BK, should two cars owned outright be titled in both names or one in each?
Do you own the two cars now? If yes, which names are on the titles now?
If you are purchasing the cars before filing and you plan to file bk jointly, then the auto exemption in your state aren't affected if one or both of you are on the titles. What matters is that both cars belong to at least one of you - that allows use your state's auto exemption on your forms when you file.
