Hey there, I am in NJ and in similar condition, very little in the way of assets etc....not much equity unless you believe in Zillow lol... anyhoo it took over two years for them to sue me. A suit which we won btw.

and we only spoke to them in the beginning, before we knew about the Great Blessing of Google Voice. They have called my family a few times. Let them knock themselves out, what do I care.

So... the odds are in your favor that there will NOT be a lien within 6 months, and even if there were... you'd ditch it in the BK. So rest easy.

    Keep On Smilin'

The less you say on the phone, the better off you will be.

If it is third party debt collectors calling you, send them a cease and desist communications letter to get them to stop calling you.

Even if it is the original creditor, I would still send them a cease and desist communications letter. In my experience, many of them will voluntarily honor it.
      The world's simplest C & D Letter:
"I demand that you cease and desist from any communication with me."
Notice that I never actually mention or acknowledge the debt in my letter.
