Acceptance for Parent Plus Loans?

Does the government look at your credit score or past history before granting loans? I ask because my son did not qualify for aid as our income was way over , but I applied for a parent plus loan and got it. I have made payments on it and have nothing outstanding at the years end. I am curious to hear other peoples stories with Plus loans, Thanks!

Yes, the Parent Plus Loans have a credit worthiness requirement. But the bar is relatively low.

Must be. Default $100,000 of CC debt and a judgement. Got the Plus loan in 2011 for $20,000 ( he lives on campus ) , and paid back it back over the year, doing the same this year as well.
