Yep...I agree with the above. I was the only one who filed (hubby didn't.) I had one credit card that hubby was an "authorized user." Crap One tried to tell me that being an authorized user also made him a co-owner and he was then responsible for the balance. My attorney told me to ask for the paperwork he signed to take on co-ownership. Oops....there wasn't any. Haven't heard from them since I asked. LOL Liar Liar pants on fire!!

How did the boat get sold (or given away, what have you) without the title?? There would have been a lien recorded against it - so I'd start at that point. Search the papers (archives) for a submission as abandoned property must be listed in the Classifieds in most states (I know they have to do it here in VA).
You'd be looking for something along the lines of bylaws, with that in mind... (crud - had SC listed laws...gimme a sec for FL - didnt catch that)Last edited by Pandora; 05-04-2012, 01:35 PM.

Manufactured boats are titled just like a car and a lien goes on the title when money is owed. Even if seeking a replacement (duplicate) the lien would show and they would need a seriel # to apply. To run it you need a current registration and to get one you need the paperwork. You cannot abandon property with a lien on it. Let the police find it. It's like a stolen car. My two cents.
