Are you guys for real? Over the top, and insulting comments. No bodies living off credit. There's a huge difference between trying to build credit verses living on credit. Paying a credit card bill off every month hardly constitutes living off credit. You must be one of those collectors by the way you framed your comments. It hardly constitutes credible speech to intentionally make such false accusations. You just discredited yourself.

As far as suing and leveeing against my bank. I'm certain that in the great state of Texas their is nothing they can do and even it they tried, they surely settle for a forth before taking such a nonsensical move that would be fruitless to them. Texas has much different BK laws than you guys apparently. .

Nothing against the great state of Texas, but if a creditor gets a judgment against you, they *WILL* be able to garnish your bank account if they choose to do so. One's wages can't be garnished in Texas, but bank accounts are a fair game.

      Good luck to us all.
No person in their right mind files a Ch. 13 with lien strip pro se. I have. Therefore, please consider me insane and clinically certifiable when reading my posts, and DO NOT take them as legal advice of any kind.Thank you.

Jack my friend, nobody is harassing you. The member you are insulted with has over 1200 posts and is in good standing. We give help freely as well as advice, and opinion. If he has an opinion that you disagree with, do this politely. We say it as we see it. I've said worse to one who insisted on immediate rescue and relief from this Forum. It does not happen that way. We are in your same boat. Some of us are floating better than others and are over the wave and in our new start. We only have our experiences to share, our stories for mental release, and our brotherhood here on the Forum. We are Family here so lighten up a bit too. You are a minister, so are we so to speak. Use self control and patience and your questions will be answered to the best of our family's ability. 'Hub

Texas is a debtor friendly state. You are lucky. The exemptions are outstanding. You have something like 30,000 in personal property exemption which is more than enough for your truck. You are indeed living off credit since you refinanced your truck and pissing away thousands in interest charge. It seems you have the income to live fine, but you are living beyond your means with your 21,000 dollar truck.

We want to help this guy who obviously has problems. We are here because we all have had "problems". But remember, when asking for help, you simply do not cut the throat of the helper.

The first post validates the argument.

Please give me some advice. Don't need snarky attempts to rag on me, just some solid good advice, for free. Thanks.

Merry Christmas guys. We're living on student loans which we plan to obtain forgiveness for in the poor public education system. We're giving back, but saving time for family too. Life's way too short and money isn't everything.

Sometimes you have to be in your face to point out the obvious. Its not a income issue, its a spending one and budgeting priorities. Texas does not have a state income tax and I doubt if he pays at all or very little in federal taxes due to his family size. I had a 30,000 dollar Honda Accord that I traded in for a paid Civic model. No more car loan. However, it is currently in service were I need to bring nearly fifteen hundred dollars tomorrow. I'm not losing sleep over it since I have a cash reserve that covers it.

Only true if you have assets that exceed a particular amount, which is much higher than you could even imagine. Homestead exemption, federal or state retirement, and the assets must be free and clear. So, good try, but missed the mark.

Truth be told, they don't have a pot to piss in and that is why they use the bullying tactics they use. Further, if they actually talked to me like a human being, I'd actually consider trying to work something out with them. They've started a few times, which resulted with a payment. Put a gun against my head and you're life expectancy has dramatically dropped. So in order to avoid going to prison, I just avoid them altogether. I believe in top down theory. Go the to top to solve the problem. Otherwise, don't bother. The little man on the totem pole is only a puppet. Sometimes you find one that is so messed up in the head it's not difficult to get him worked up.

If they would settle for $3K, I'd do it and call it fair considering the facts, free money for them and no more harrassing calls, which had stopped for a long time. Call blocker really works well. No AT&T to contend with here. The service is virtually free, other than $100 per year and electricity to run the phone. It also collects recorded messages, which can be very incriminating to the collectors if I chose to pursue it. They're much better off leaving me alone because I have proof of their misdeeds. My charity to them is leaving them alone, but I also expect them to leave us alone. Thechnology works both ways once you figure it out. I've planned to put together a collections proof system and publish it as a public service for those who've fallen prey to ill fate, medical bills tied into health issues, like us. What's a life worth to you? Looks like you value the almighty dollar more than people. in my faith, that is considered gravely sinful and punishable by eternal damnation. Not that I'm condemning anyone, because culpability is also at play. ;)

I'm giving them their honeymoon, being the new collector. Call till their hearts content. it won't change anything. But when they finally stop, I'll look into it. If Asset bought the debt, then I assume they also have the power and authority to remove the chargeoff. If they remove the charge off, I'll consider making arrangements. But until then, they're simply screwed and only hurting themselves for being in such an unscrupulous business. Only a loser would work in such a place.
