I completely understand the panic you are feeling and the only advice I can give is on the panic is deep breaths, walk out into the back yard stretch up to sky let the sun (if you have any) or wind hit your face for a minute or two take some deep breaths hopefully you will feel some calm.
Do what you can to file the taxes but make sure you have someone review – being stressed and tried you might make some mistakes that might end up hurting you in the end. Take small breaks, it will help you focus.
It’s my humble belief the sheriff wouldn’t come back any time soon. They have far more important things to do and this just an administrative task, hopefully pretty low on their list of things to do.
But my ex-husband will tell you, I’ll been known to be wrong before, so take what I believe is Catleg’s advice move anything of value over 1,000 that you did not list on the debtor’s exam to a friend or family for save keeping. If you listed it on the debtor’s exam leave it in the home as I believe you can get into more trouble if you try to hide those items. Clean out your cars – they might use a repo company to get the vehicles, not 100% sure on NJ rules on that.

Pansy, you posted at the end of July that you were doing your taxes. Is there someone that may be able to help you with it. Are you doing them with Turbo tax or another tax software program? Concentrate on getting the taxes done. Be sure to keep copies because I lost my copies and I had a time getting them. You may still have to order a transcript to show you actually filed them but I'm not sure about that. Check with your attorney.
Also, there must be some way you can keep the sheriff away from your husband's place of business. That doesn't seem right to me especially if the debt is yours. Maybe someone can answer that question. Know that everyone is thinking about you and we are here for support!Filed 11/17/11 Chapter 13, 341 meeting 12/21/11. Thank you everyone for your support. I am tearing through the house trying to find all the paperwork - missing one year that was in the living room with the others. I think my husband moved it - once he leaves for work I will tear the downstairs apart.
I can't believe that my life has fallen apart like this. If we lose the cars - we wil be done -please send vibes out to keep the sheriff away long enough for me to file!!!!!
You make a good point about going to my husband's place of business - however this is a small town and everyone knows everyone else.
Not much of value in house anymore- sold good things and my jewelry to pay bills - worst thing is the phone will be shut off friday if not paid - need to find $ for that and get these taxes done asap.
Will the sheriff come back this week - he was here last thurs?

yes park them down the street. i had a friend that did that for about a month as he was perparing to file, they never found it. do what you have to do until the postition of power shifts back to you and you are in control . hang in there one step at a time.Filled 5-2010

Got one year done - found parts of the year that I was missing -
The cars are totally paid for and old - one is 10 years old and one is 9. Everyone in town knows our cars on sight.
I never should have let this get out of control but I'v been fighting depression for a long time and I'v been so overwhelmed that I couldn't get my act together.
Thank you all!

We did the prebk course at the beginning of July - I've been keeping an eye on the timing. I wonder if sheriff comes back and seizes cars but before an auction - would filing bankruptcy get my cars back if they had been siezed but not sold yet? We have nothing to buy cars back with. Still don't have $ for phone bill(and internet) due to be cut off Fri - I am trying to be calm but it is VERY hard.

If the cars are seized but not sold do i get th-e cars back after I file- or am i screwed????Would i have to pay????? anyone????

i'm with Lady, on thism if there is a judgement, the creditor can come after any of your assets and put a lien on them and take them until you get the situation under control, which unfortunately, is up to you and your lawyer
and, i would be extremely mindful of the time of your course, otherwise you will have to take it again.8/4/2008 MAKE SURE AND VISIT Tobee's Blogs! http://www.bkforum.com/blog.php?32727-tobee43 and all are welcome to bk forum's Florida State Questions and Answers on BK http://www.bkforum.com/group.php?groupid=9

Hey, Pansyface! I don't know the answer to your last question. But, I thought I'd give you a little nudge....
How are those other returns going? Keep working on them!! The sooner they are done, the sooner you won't have to worry about the Sherriff!LadyInTheRed is in the black!
