    Question

I just tried to look up one of my credit card accounts on line and it's gone. Is it because after 6 months of non-payment they write the account off?

That is very possible. But don't worry....... it hasn't gone away. Someone will be in touch with you soon.

Yes once you're 180 days late it is charged off.
I had this happen for most of my online accounts, some much sooner than that.
It was funny to access the Chase website, see my accounts gone, but they would be updating my contact info from their collection database, this is how I learned that they were calling the new condo owners at our previous address 6 years earlier (using a reverse lookup on the contact number).
Discover has some special collections website, I forget the name, something like wecanhelp.com but much longer than that.
They were willing to go down to 1/3 of my balance on one account at one time, but it just didn't matter at that point.
Now they get about 0.2% of the balance per month from the chapter 13 trustee.
I guess over 60 months that really adds up.
filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED!
