Ooo, a debt collector called, 6 weeks after I filed!

I don't know who they are calling for, I just have a phone number. I started answering the phone immediately after I filed and gave the required info to whoever I spoke to, and haven't had any calls whatsoever since maybe the week after I filed.

Today there is a random call, but I don't know which creditor it's for. I'll call them tomorrow and see; it was the standard: "Calling for ___ ___, if this isn't ___ ___ then please ignore. This is an attempt to collect a debt" blah blah blah

Ooooo, I hope it's someone who knows I've filed!

I get random calls now and again. If it is not a number I recognize, I ignore it. So my advice is to just ignore it.

I did answer a random call once, much to my regret. Though I had told them where to go, and the mode of transportation to use, it took 'Hub getting on the phone to make it all stop.

          you are so funny!!!

we also get calls, it used to be regularly after our discharge, it was all of them...discover, chase, boa, citi and a few more...ceptin for the FACT all the calls were for the people who USE to have our new phone number!!! we were tell them over and over and OVER again we were not "those" people.

after a few months for their continuing to call, i would answer and pretend to be really nice, get their names, companies returned phone numbers etc...taking it slow and easy as, i, while on the phone would pull up the FTC site. i would ask them to please speak slowly and clearly, spell their name repeat that number...(so i could type in the complaint as we were talking). after i was done with MY questions, i would say thank you very much, i have the information i needed, hopefully you should be hearing back from the FTC shortly. then i clicked that button!!!

we no longer hear from any of them.
