In all fairness, catleg is one of the very few undisputed masters of the Collections forum...
Required reading for keeping one's mental sanity or what's left thereof...
Good luck to us all.No person in their right mind files a Ch. 13 with lien strip pro se. I have. Therefore, please consider me insane and clinically certifiable when reading my posts, and DO NOT take them as legal advice of any kind.Thank you.

What the person is trying to tell you is that they have not met their quota for the month, and if they don't get you to pay up, they might lose their job! Other than that, there is no "irreversible decision" that the creditor can make. If/when they "charge off" the account, that just means they are noting it as bad debt in their records, and on your credit reports. They will still continue to hound you with collection calls, dunning letters, etc.
If the phone calls are getting annoying, I would cancel whatever phone numbers your creditors know about and get a home phone with an unlisted number. I have debts out to wazoo, and I haven't paid a penny since March of 2009, yet the collectors never call me because all I have is an unlisted home phone!

Hello! Actually despite any irreversible decision, they're still calling - which I don't mind actually - I get nervous when they stop calling :-)

Needless to say I haven't got $892 to send them...
Seriously, with more than $7k in debt--which is probably increasing by $400 or so each month due to interest--you might as well cut your losses and quit paying now. It's not as if the $892 figure is the full amount owed--it's just the minimum payment to keep the account from charging off.
As a side note, the advice to discard dunning letters, threatening letters, etc. is stupid. You should get a shoebox and file away all those documents, because in the future they may be necessary for a bankruptcy filing or to establish SOL for credit reporting purposes or in case of a creditor lawsuit years down the road.
