Not familiar with NJ, but I would think the speed regarding motion for summary would depend on your answer. Its important to know your state civil laws.

THanks everyone, I really appreciate everyone taking the time to answer. I did call the court clerk and she said we don't grant extensions unless you talk to the plaintiff and if they are ok with it, then there is a ton of paperwork to be filled out. That being said, I am going to answer the summons with affirm/deny. I am going to actually ask my parents to give us the money to file. We owe the attorney the balance. We were planning on filing anyway, and I am frankly tired of trying to figure out how to dodge all this, and we haven't paid in 2 years so I am sure the lawsuits are just starting to come in.

Catleg- by what you said, I don't think this is an inhouse attorney (although I may be wrong) this guy is out of cherry hill.

We really need to get all this mess behind us and file and start fresh. It's been a 3 long years and I need it to be over.
