    They would be required to pick them up, store them, auction them, and....

    pay a political price for doing so.

    In my area, personal belongs are not touched.

      In PA the deduction is only $300, but your right most often your home furnishings are not worth the trouble. Its not the sheriff its the collection agency who purchased your debt. I recently had a sheriff tag my items, he was extremely nice, he said he has nothing to do with picking up the items. The collection attorney, also said they really don't want your stuff.

        In NJ I think it is very rare that they would go after any personal property besides a motor vehicle or rental real estate.
        Mostly it's about wage garnishment and bank account garnishment, with the backstop of the real estate lien.
        Pennsylvania seems a little more aggressive about furniture and stuff, maybe because they lack wage garnishment as a remedy.
        filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED!
