Yes, but would that apply if YOU signed up for email notification for future billing? Many are optional - so just by receiving a notice doesnt necessarily constitute a violation...does it? As noted, many are automated - so if you opt-out and end the notifications....

Technically, they should be considered to be a violation because the automatic stay protects you from your creditors. If you list a creditor in your bk filing, they are subject to the rules, regardless of "automation".

Automation is used as an excuse waaaaaaay too much. Everyone listed gets notified of your filing, and it is up to the creditor to stop the billing/notifications/statements, etc.

If you did not file on a creditor, ie your Verizon bill, then they would not know and have no reason to know about your filing, therefore billing/notices would continue, and there would not be a violation of the stay.

If you then notified Verizon that you had filed, they would then be subject.
