Still getting collection letters TWO WEEKS after we filed...

Received a few collections letters from various collectors dated and mailed TWO WEEKS since our filing date. Target's "attorney's" (Rausch, Sturm, Israel, Enerson and Hornik, LLC), NCO and one other that the name escapes me right now.

I have to call my attorney about something else on Monday and plan to mention it to him. But wondering, 2 wks after filing date seems like they should have already stopped sending letters.

Were these specific entities listed on your petition? (i.e. the law firm for Target).

Generally, just send them notice of the BK and it will stop. 2 weeks is about the cut off. It takes anywhere from 6-10 days for the court to mail the notices once your case is filed.

Yes, all of them were listed on the petition.

With nearly 100,000 BK filings a month, give the creditor around 30 days to stop sending bills. If you get any after your 341, then your attorney can send a cease and desist letter. You can use the ones you have now for kindling.

Question though, why would they stop calling, but still send letters?

Because letters come from the same computers that are starting the Matrix and they are starting to think on their own. Again just wait the 30 days and then worry.
