I have an old medical bill ( 2 yrs oldish) that is now in the hands of pressler. I agreed to a payment plan in sePt for 50 a month balance to be paid on march 25 this yr. The original amount of the bill was 2500. The amount they want meo pay is 4000 with the finance and legal fees. First question is can they and how much can they charge for fees (am in nj btw). Second is I just got a bill from the original creditor in the amount of 2500. Says to be paid immediately. There are no fees on the bill. And I assumed that I cOuld not pay the original creditor I'd have to pay Pressler. Is that true? Can I pay the orig creditor the 2500 since they just sent me a bill? If they take the payment do I still owe Pressler the other fees because I agreed to there payment plan of the full 4000??? Anyone help

Welcome to the forum!
If the original creditor just sent you a bill, you can pay them, and not the collectors.
If you had the cash you could also probably settle it for less with the original creditor as well.
Good luck.No person in their right mind files a Ch. 13 with lien strip pro se. I have. Therefore, please consider me insane and clinically certifiable when reading my posts, and DO NOT take them as legal advice of any kind.Thank you.
