In Need of a Good Reverse Phone Number Website

    Hello All

I have been receiving calls from three different companies attempting to collect - problem is they are calling my work line and where I sit is an open cube within earshot of 6 people so the last thing I want to do is answer and have to say.. I'm sorry what is your address so I can send you a copy of my BK 7 filing. I have very luck so far and no one knows I just filed on 11.12 and I hope to keep it that way. I know I missed some smaller accounts on my original filing.

Does anyone know a good reverse phone number lookup that I can use this weekend to so I can get them on my revised mailing matrix?

    Thanks.
    Filed Pro Se: 11.12.2010 ~ 341: 1.12.2011 ~ Discharged: 3.9.2011 ~ Officially an Asset Case: 3.30.2011 ~ Last Day to File Asset Claim: 6.28.2011 ~ Trustee Final Report: 8.1.2011 ~ Asset Distribution: 8.31.2011 ~ Case Close: 11.15.2011

Why not just answer and ask them to call you on your home line after X o'clock. No one would know that it's a debt collector then. When they call at home tell them that you've filed Chap 7 and that you are wondering who they are. They might already be on the matrix and violating the stay.

Or you could just toss the number into google and see if you get any hits. Good luck!

I use Whitepages.com for reverse number look-up. However, many CA's aren't listed, so they don't show up. I simply type their number into my Google search box and usually can find them that way.

Let me edit that to say "used to type their number"...since we haven't been getting calls for 2 months now
Filed pro se, made it through the 341, discharged, Closed!!!

The best reverse phone number source is to type directly into google. However....... most all collection agencies are using an auto dialer and can make any number they program in to show up.

I'm sure that most have seen the 000-000-0000 number on the phone. That's when they forget to put a number in.

Oh, and it could totally be Portfolio - they call from like a billion numbers. When you google the number you can go to a website with other people complaining of them calling (at all hours of the day/night too boot).

Try this one. Comments on the numbers will help you determine who it is.

+125K Unsecured so far. Change your cellphone#, give all creditors your Google Voice#, and turn on the "do not disturb." Now enjoy the rest of your day . Thank you Chase: I deal with you last.

U can also try whocalled.us. I've found some names of creditors on this website, and also some complaints from other people, about some of the creditors that have been calling them.

800notes is a great one, but simply googling the number will work in most cases.

If not, just answer the phone and ask who is calling. Then add them to your bk.
                The world's simplest C & D Letter:
"I demand that you cease and desist from any communication with me."
Notice that I never actually mention or acknowledge the debt in my letter.
