Received an "offer" from AMEX to reduce my amount due by 70%. Of course, it says I must call them first in order for the offer to be effective. Anyome have any experience with AMEX and their offers?

My Amex "offer" came from a collection agency...... I called they were nasty to me.. I hung up... 3 months later they tried to sue.. and I filed.... btw they still have not filed claim and my bar date is in 5 days ... hmmmm.....Filed 7/17/10 1st 341 8/17/10 2nd 341 9/16/10 1st confirmation 10/06/10 2nd confirmation 11/10/10 Bar Date 11/15/10 3rd and final confirmation hearing Dec 8 and acceptance of plan Dec 29 2010.... -
I've had amex offers in the last few months. Nothing special. I believe one was for a 30% reduction from the new inflated amount, so it amounted to nothing. The other I can't recall. Amex in the past was particularly nasty to deal with as i recall, so I would sooner have a root canal done, without novacaine, than deal with those snakes. Of all the creditors, they will never see a dime. Thats a promise.Comment
