why dont you just call the sheriff's office and find out what you need to do regarding the warrant? Obviously members on here cant help you as only you know the details of why this occurred. Its also very obvious that you have your answer by your own posting i.e., "....they told me no - it would still be on the calendar even if no oral argument was requested".
What's been posted about if you get stopped (like traffic stop or even a simple drivers lic. check) they will and can take you to jail given you have the warrant out. Do you really want to take that chance vs. just making a simple call and trying to figure out the next step? Think of your children - what if they're in the car with you and you get taken to jail for merely avoiding a call to straighten it all out?
That one of the worst things I would want my children to see.
Maybe you need to look into NJ's Safe Surrender Program - its coming up soon. Many states offer this service.
