Can they still call?

my bk is final, but I still get calls for my sister... she had a car loan thru Nuvell Financial, and it was repo'd (duh, almot 550 a month for a freakin cavalier??? anyway... lol) Well, she still owes them a hefty balance, but since i was her "emergency" contact they call me.

She lies to me and tells me shes called but they never call her back. She doesn't leave her cell phone number, and has no other number so of course they don't call her back, they call me. I tried to get her to file bk before the deadline, but she said she didn't have time (of course she had no job and sat on her butt, but still no time I guess) Now they are starting to get nasty with me, either thinking i'm her, or that she does live with me. So finally today i told her if she won't call them back, then i'm giving her cell number to them!

I know this sounds terrible, but I'm so tired of covering for her, i even offered to loan her all my paperwork so she could see how it was done so she could file too, but she refused. She seems to think that if she buries her head in the sand it will go away. She also doesn't think they will sue her and garnish her wages. She owes about 6,000 to them... I truly think that is worth them pursuing in court, but she ignores it. She has a good job now, making about 40,000 a year and has no children or car payment, only 300 a month in rent cause she has a roomie, plus regular bills. I guess i'm just venting cause hubby and i make 35 a year together, and support 2 kids, but yet she says she can't make it on what she makes.

Sometimes your family just makes you want to slam your head into a wall ;-)

If someone is making 800$ a week and only pays 300$ for rent, and is still unable to pay her bills, theres something wrong there. A 6,000 debt is not the real problem, the problem is shes irresponsible with money. Filing BK will not help her with that.
