No, I was paying the minimums before I stopped paying last September. Sorry , for the misunderstanding. I had heard that paying "something" showed good character. I did not how ever believe it truly mattered. No, I am not paying anything now.

Forget character. If you pay less than the minimum, you are just as in default as if you blew them off completely and sent zip.
First consult: You go now, no CH 7 for you. You spent entire buffet. 13 has a 95 percent payback. (Owwwch) On to next consult....

Since they have already filed a lawsuit against you, sending them a payment especially by a check from your personal account would be about the worse thing you could ever do. That account number/bank information would be used to drain you account after they get the judgment.

Also making a payment could be used by the creditor to get a Summary Judgment against you. They could argue that it is an admission of the debt.

Thank you!! I figured out the check book information thought as I was thinking of doing that. It was suggested that I send it western union, but that just seemed silly to me. It would cost more to mail than the check is worth. You are right I will not be sending the $3.00

              The world's simplest C & D Letter:
"I demand that you cease and desist from any communication with me."
Notice that I never actually mention or acknowledge the debt in my letter.

Yes, I know. I only work 22 hrs a week. I think I am pretty judgement proof. Thanks for the stats, I appreciate the facts. so in over my head!!
