Question: RJM Purchased a Debt from Literary Guild

I received a letter today from RJM, stating that they Purchased a Debt from Literary Guild on books shipped from 2005.

I have never heard Literary Guild. Do I have the right to request that RJM prove that this debt is mine and if so I would I go about doing that...

Well, you have the right to have them "validate" the debt, but all that means is the need to identify the original creditor (which they have done), and the amount owed. Beyond that, all you can do is deny the debt is owed. But you are in a catch 22, unless you are willing to sue them, they will keep calling.

definitely request validation. I believe RJM is one CA/JDB who will report to credeit reporting agencies.
