    Collection proof question

We have a checking account with one bank and a savings with another.

The savings in is my name alone. Because my social isn't on the cards- the savings account can't be accessed by judgment, correct?

The savings is direct deposited. It never touches the checking.

I'm wondering, since we can't get my dh a paper check if we directed all of his check but a few bucks into my savings account?

Who is the debtor ?...your husband, you, or both ?

If you are the debtor, or cosigner, your account can be levied/cleaned out following a judgment.

      Thanks, I appreciate it.

I had a card with my name on it, but never signed anything. They aren't coming after me for the CC debt, only my husband.

If the creditor finds out where your husband is working, they will garnish his wage.

So you have a joint checking where DH gets his pay, and you want to transfer it to your savings at another bank the moment it gets credited. Sure, that sounds like a plan to me. As Big John said you're only at risk of wage garnishment. (or maybe not, depends where you live and how much you make.)
