Thank you catleg. I am going to do that.

Thanks frogger for the laugh. I should be proud that many more bill collectors have jobs now because of me. Such a positive outlook you have!

I viewed all my lawsuits (at least ten) as economic stimulus for the state government. Generated at least $1000 in filing fees for them. Not even a thank you.
filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED!

And look at the bright side. You're contributing to job growth in our country. Think of how many collectors have been hired!

After they move to a collection agency, immediately send them a letter instructing them not to call you at work.

Don't wait until it goes to a collection agency. Send the original creditor a cease and desist communications letter if they are calling you at work. It works in most cases, most original creditors will voluntarily honor it.
          The world's simplest C & D Letter:
"I demand that you cease and desist from any communication with me."
Notice that I never actually mention or acknowledge the debt in my letter.

I, too, was getting a lot of calls from creditors. It seemed like the phone rang every 5 minutes. I'm so thankful for caller ID. My case was filed on a Friday afternoon and the calls noticeably decreased (2 or 3) by Saturday. By Monday, the only calls I received were from people I wanted to talk to.
            Filed: 4/30/2010; 341: 6/7/2010; Discharged: 8/11/2010; Closed: 8/16/2010
