    What did it baloon to?

Anyone have any debts originate about 10K or so and past the SOL that were tried to collect on. Just wondering what they ballooned to?

Im sure Citi or/and BOA will try to sue me, However, Just wondering how big the debts would really get if they made it past our 7year old SOL, lol.

There was one zombie debt collector who came after me for an old college credit card debt that had ballooned from $450 to $13,586 due to fees, interest, and what they called collection charges. I sent them a cease and desist letter and never heard from them again. They did not attempt to sue me over it.

Notice that I never actually mention or acknowledge the debt in my letter.

What? You didn't go for a 50% settlement?

LOL, It will be interesting to see what my $18K debt gets to. As soon as I defualted it went to 30% APR ontop of the $39 late fee every month. On top of that, who knows what fees they will want for collections.

Here is what I have noticed. On my unsecured accounts that charged-off, there were no more late charges or interest added after chargeoff. When I get CA letters they generally list the amount at chargeoff. This isn't to say that a CA or collection attorney wouldn't attempt to tack on the interest after winning a judgment. In many states they would be entitiled to do so. Just my experience. Your's might differ.

The crap one ca added $2800 to my $5000 balance. They will never get a cent from me.

However, they found my part-time employer and have issued a garnishment. I reset my tax withholding exemptions to 0. But should not be a issue, since my income is below the federal poverty number.

If your income is below the poverty level, and your state exempts this level of income from garnishment (Arizona does), you should fight this garnishment in court, and you will probably no longer have your wages garnished.

I know of someone here locally who got her wages garnished from her part time job, and she fought it and won, and now they can't garnish her wages until she starts making money above a certain level.

I defaulted on 6 different cards 6 years ago and only 1 sued me. After chargeoff, neither of my Discover cards added any penalties or interest.

I defaulted on a BOA card and the balance at the time was $9000. It now sits at over $16,000.

Citibank did sue me. At the time of chargeoff the balance was under $8000. They sued me for double because of interest. The balance now is about $22,000.

Wow, 3 times the amount. If that happens to one of our citicards it would actually reach close to $55K, Id love to see how they would ever expect us to pay that kind of mulah off. lol. unless they decided to combine the three amounts for well over $120K, Maybe the judge would throw that one out on sheer lunacy, lol.
