Jackdog is a girl - with an ex husband and a boyfriend.
So is it PC for a girl to call her female co-workers girls?

How about girls night out? Should that now be female associates night out?

WhatMoney - I stated I assumed JackDog was a guy...that is a derrogatory term for a guy to use in an on the job setting for a female. Please see the difference. It can get a guy in big trouble, that is all I was stating. As a female myself and going out for a night "with the girls" is not me on the job referring to the guy in the next office as a "stud." It's gender related and most offices now have gender-based/sexual harrassment training in place.

If you said that in my office or most offices out there, the "girls" would get on you big time, would probably report it and get you called into HR for a warning, review of office policy and possibly given in-house training as part of that warning. There are "guy" assistants/receptionists also, now more than ever...Just fair warning - make sure you don't use the term "honey," "my girl" or "sweetie" as that can really do you in!
I'm female and I'm a waitress we don't talk the way people in an office would talk. No one takes offense to anyone saying one of the girls or guys I work with. I can see the assumption I'm male. My name is JackDog after my dog boxer Jack that past away in 08, I called him JackerDog or JackDog.
But where I work calling each other the girls or the guy's is very tame compared to how some of the people I work with greet each other.

Don't ask questions if you don't want a reply...now, my apologies to JackDog for thinking she was a guy due to her ID and the comment made in the posting, and let's get this thread back on track...

You have nothing to apologize for. Had I been say a guy and referred to my female associates as the girls I could see offense being taken. But the field I'm in is a much different environment. I actually prefer it. Some workplaces have gotten so uptight nowadays you have to think of every word you say before you speak. No worries everyone has a different work environment and the restaurant industry is full of foul mouths sailor types .
