Not Telecheck but TeleTRACK, who are these people? They did a hard inquiry on my credit yesterday and the only thing I can really find on them is that they deal with payday loans which I don't have.

As a non-traditional consumer credit information bureau Teletrack provides risk mitigation services. Interesting. You can request a copy of their file on you, just like any other CRA. Amazing how these anomalous CRAs keep crawling out of the woodwork.

I'm guessing that requesting your file from these guys becomes an exercise in data collection about you for their database.

Sounds a lot like a check guarantee company.

They're one of the agencies that the payday lender slugs use to see if you've paid pack other payday lender slugs that you've done business with. They, themselves, are also slugs. And that's being charitable and it's probably an unfair insult to those little slimy creatures you find under rocks.

I guess I am just wondering why a payday loan affiliated service would have anything to do with a hard inquiry on my report, I have no payday loans, haven't applied for one, etc. I dunno. Just wondering. Thanks.

Neat idea! I'll have to try that. They don't do well in washing machines either, I have learned, due to washing about a dozen of them that managed to find their way into my 8 year-old's jeans pocket.

The ride in a kid's pocket probably did the trick there.

I hear beer kills them too. You fill a saucer with beer and they fall in and drown while drunk. I preferred sitting and drinking the beer myself and salting them as they invade the patio while I get drunk....

Maybe you applied for something that associates with TeleTrack..

I had micro bilt show up on a chexsys file. I now think they were collecting their own info as they are a bit like a CRA. I requested a written reason as to what authority they had to look at my chexsys report. I have not received any reply from them. I am now going to dispute this with Chexsys. This still leaves me with the uneasy feeling of what micro bilt wanted with my chexsys info. I'm tempted to put an ID theft alert on all of my CRS's and cheksys accounts until further notice. If micro bilt doen't respond to me, I'll file a complaint with my county DA's office and at least get a record started. I'll also send a copy of the police report to micro bilt. Maybe that will get their attention!

I haven't applied for jack squat in a loooong while, which is whyh this caught my eye on my CR. We'll see I guess.
