Filing bk in near future-what should I tell CA now?

Briefly-my as-of-yesterday ex and I were to file bk prior to divorce. We were taking too long, plus attorney was pokey, and divorce judge ordered the divorce to move forward.
During that time we retained that atty and was able to give all the CA's the atty name, and all phone calls stopped.

Cut to today. All calls are back in full swing. Although the ex and I each plan to file bk seperately, we must wait a period of time before we each file. Since many debts are joint, neither of us wants the other being harassed by each others CA's.

In the meantime is there anything I can say or do to stop these calls again? Will they stop if I tell them I plan to file bk shortly? I am broke ( thus the bk ) do you think I can keep them at bay offering $5-$10/mo.?

    All suggestions welcome

    Thanks

No, that won't even slow them down. Quit answering the phone.....

Thanks-I have quit answering for the most part. It is the ringing and civil suites that bother me.

I tell them, I have told all of them. I could care less really, for the most part they leave me alone once I send out DV's.

              Silly question
              What are DV's?

                Right on!
                The world's simplest C & D Letter:
"I demand that you cease and desist from any communication with me."
Notice that I never actually mention or acknowledge the debt in my letter.

Show them by filing. If you can't do that, then send out a DV (debt verification) letter, and then a CD (cease & desist letter). Send them all certified.

You can not reason with the credit card collection agencies. Don't even waste your time trying.

                        Thanks for the clarification, frogger.

                        Another silly question

the above is only in regard to CA's and not calls directly from "lenders" i.e. Chase, GE Money?
Or does this apply to all calls "attempting to collect a debt"?

Also I read the DV needs to be sent out within 30 days of contact, is that true?
