i've heard a few places.. For me it was an sprint . They're pretty horrible about their calls. They charged me off for like $100 (which was a mistake - we only had the phones for 3 days- and were supposed to be refunded all our money); and then called my work, home and cell at least 10 times a day. When i asked them to stop calling my work- they wouldn't.

I wouldn't even return their calls. I did once- and it got worse.
It doesn't do any good either. They just tell you "this will affect your credit score" and offer a "settlement".

I know they do collections for medical offices. I work in a Dr's office and we use them. They get 1/3 of whatever they collect and the rest goes to the original creditor.
