Well....they will I'm sure. I don't remember how soon they started calling me after, but I was getting 3-4 calls a day from them at one point. Last time I heard from them was something about being charged off....and nothing since. I'm sure a CA will be calling on their behalf any day now.
Of MY accounts, I wouldn't say they were the "worst," I'd save that label for Chase!
Lindsay I have Chase also. I speak with them and the calls stop for about two or three days at a time. Then with their next call I talk to them again and the same thing, they stop calling for a few days. I do this with Juniper also. This is working well for us, gives us some peace for days at a time.
"I'm sure a CA will be calling on their behalf any day now."
Capital One must send their accounts to collections pretty quickly then?

oh, well i'm not sure cap one sends their accounts quickly, but i stopped paying they about 7 months ago so i just figured....chase didn't waste any time sending to CA's!
I'm fighting with Capital One still. They keep calling my wife incessantly. They have our case number and attorney's information already. I didn't give it to them, so I can only assume they were notified by the court, but they keep telling my wife "We need some documentation from your lawyer, until we get that the calls won't stop."
She told them to call the lawyer then, and leave her alone. He said: "Okay, well, the calls will stop for a month, then we'll start calling again unless we get the documentation we need."
Oh really? What "documentation" they "need" is still unclear, as they obviously have been notified by the court since I didn't give them the case number.
I tried calling them last night after I got off work and was told "Oh yes sir, that account has been turned over to our bankruptcy department. They are closed. You must call back tomorrow." *sigh* So I told this fine gentleman: "Well, sir, there is obviously someone there, because they are calling her until 9PM every night." No response from him, then a faint *click* Guess he hung up on me. Lovely people.
Oh my gosh jalex, I thought they had to stop calling because of the automatic stay! What does your attorney say about their calls? Continuing to call is supposed to be a big no-no isn't it?
Oh man, I guess I should be bracing myself. Or try to relax and enjoy the calm before the storm, lol!
This will be our second time filing. The first time our attorney instructed us to change our phone number, which we did so we never had to deal with this part of the process the first time. We can't change our number this time, no land line only cell phone, and I'm not sure that would be the wisest thing to do anyhow. I don't want them tracking down family members.
I hope things settle down for you soon.

Just before I stoppped paying I logged onto our accounts and changed work phone numbers to our cell number, so I know they have the right number. That's why I'm surprised they haven't contacted us yet.
I've seen mention of Hot Linda several times here in the collections forum. I'll get to meet her soon and won't be feeling left out anymore!

Eh, the calls don't bother me anymore. It's all a game now, since I know we're filed. I'm mainly after Capital One because they are *technically* violating the law, and I'm not going to let them push me around!
Also, the BEST THING you can possibly do in this case is sign up for google voice! I switched all of my numbers to that, put up a voicemail message that had my full name on it, and let them call. And call they did. Hundreds of times. My phone did not ring once for any of those calls, they would leave messages sometimes. Since the voicemail had my name on it, I think they thought they were getting through, even though they weren't.
Eventually they will start looking at the past numbers on the account, but it seems to take them a while.
Funny I should say that, HSBC *just* called my cell phone after calling Google Voice for the last 3-4 months...Guess the paper hasn't made it everywhere yet!
I think GEMB is the worst. I have not stopped paying everyone as I am still pondering; I stopped paying those who would not work with me one bit, and paid me back by decreasing my limits to max them out. This boiled down to BoA, FIA (really BoA) and GEMB. BoA calls once a day, I will likely call them back as they do leave messages. GEMB calls a minimum of 4 times a day and never leaves messages; probably robocalling. I may answer one day. Both are only 2 weeks late.
One way or another, survival bills come first in my house. Then secured bills, and money owed the feds (student loans, veteran overpays). Then creditors who have done me right, or at least made the attempts to do so. Last place are those who won't work with me...and if there is no money left, there is no money left.
If they haven't called, they will.
First consult: You go now, no CH 7 for you. You spent entire buffet. 13 has a 95 percent payback. (Owwwch) On to next consult....
Thanks for the advice. I requested an invite from google voice but haven't heard back yet darn it!
jdcat, if you want to PM me an email address I have a few invitations left so you can get one immediately. Google Voice has been a wonderful solution for our daily callers.
Cap One wasn't too bad, especially once I told them I was going BK. Even without lawyer info, they took me off the autodialer.
Chase is the new worst enemy. They want to own the world. They're still building new branches here in NJ, them and Cap One Bank. Guess Citi hasn't crumbled fast enough to suit them.
