Not lay yet but received new option when called BoA

    **Title should say "Late"**

I called BoA to see if they could change my payment date on the two cars we have with them but they said no. What they did say was that I could give them my ck acct info now and they would post date it for the date I could pay AND waive the late charge.

I think I'm going to do that cause I need to play this out for a few months yet. I still have to buy a car and get setup for the "dark days" ahead.

    Any thoughts?

DON'T DO IT! If you decide you are going to give them an 'account' to draft a payment from, make it an account that is entirely separate from your regular account where you deposit your income. The best thing is to make it an account from one of those pre-paid cards so you have complete control in case they try to 1) debit on the wrong date or 2) try to debit more than the amount authorized or 3) both.

If a pre-paid card won't work then open an account that is not tied to your regular account (preferably at another bank/cu) and only put in the funds you authorize plus maybe a token amount to keep the account above zero so you do not incur any bank charges or OD fees.

Do not believe what BOA tells you about holding the debit/check until another date. Don't believe anything they tell you verbally - remember, if it is not in writing it does not exist. Protect yourself first.

Yes, I have just such an account. We opened it a long time ago to get a free $100.00 from Chase. It gets a direct deposit of $100.00 each payday that is taken out the same day. That would work perfect.
