I'm confused about something.
Should one go into BK, like the timeline of it all, go close any ckg. acct. they have and then go to the atty, or some semblance thereof?
Should one go into BK, with no ckg. acct., and just become a cash-only, while in BK proceedings?
I see on here people talking about changing bank accts. And that is something I already did, in anticipation of not being able to pay the creditors that automatically debit (made arrangements with several to auto debit my ckg. acct.). I will, if it comes to that, close the original ckg. acct., that I've had for 26 years.
I already did go open a separate ckg. acct., it sits idle, un-used at this point. But just as a side note of interest, they are going to charge me $10/monthly for said new account. This is a CU. Why? Because my credit is in the hole, deeply. They ran a chex-system review on me, and I guess a credit report. There was nothing in the chex-system, as I've never written a bad check (yet). But they sure were able to get a LOW LOW credit report on me. So, while others get free ckg at this CU, I will have to pay $10/mthly, for a period of 1 year.
But back to the original question, is it a matter that one should not go into BK being the owner of any ckg acct. anywhere? Because creditors, whoever gets there first, whoever is more aggressive, will swoop in and wipe the balance out in your ckg. acct? Here I think I have the money in there to make my mtg payment (which I intend to keep doing, if I can),.......... only to find out my mtg payment bounced, because some creditor came in and wiped out my acct.
