    Pentagroup Financial?

Anyone here ever had any experience with them? They've called dozens and dozens of times, sent letters about a Chase account I'm over 180 days late on...I have spoken with them over the phone 2-3 times, always told them I couldn't pay right now, will try to pay "when I can," etc. I just spoke with a guy from there a few days ago....tonight they call, I answer, he says they've been trying to get in touch with me for over a month. I tell him I know that, and I have spoken with them several times. He says something about the last guy was supposed to have set me up on a hardship payment plan of only $140/month (the debt is a little over $3k) and that they are being nice to do this for me and try to keep it out of court. I tell him I don't have $140/month, I don't even have $10/month. He says some mumbo jumbo about how he understands I have had some problems and he knows it's rough and good luck but they will continue to contact me until I make payment.

I wouldn't say he "threatened" to sue me just b/c he mentioned "keeping it out of court" and I am not sure if they've bought the debt or Chase still owns it. I am not sure if I will be sued or how long they will take to sue. I'm very nervous about being sued....I am unemployed so I have no income or wages to garnish (but we are in Louisiana which is a community property state so not sure if they'd garnish my husband's wages) and I really have nothing for them to take...but the thought of being sued makes my stomach hurt).

I searched the forum for Pentagroup and come up with nothing but one of my own threads.

Typical collection agent blowing smoke out of his a@@.

Keep in mind fear and intimidation is how they get people to PAY.

Just send them a Cease & Desist and you will never hear from them again. Send 'em all C & D letters.
Stopped paying c. cards February 2009
    Retained attorney 11/5/09 - $100k in C.Card debt - $120000 per year income - Filed Feb 2010 - 341 Apr 2010 - No Asset Case/Report of No Dist Apr 2010 - Discharged June 2010
    Case went without a hitch!
I HELD MY HEAD HIGH IN THAT COURTROOM AND NOW I AM MOVING ON!

They got a d+ here. I googled and found several cases where they were sued for violating the FDCPA.

I would guess most CA's would have a D+ or worse though right?
