    the Moore Law group

Got a call from these guys today. Left a message for my wife. They are a local firm here in So. Cal, looks like they specialize in Debt Collection. web site says the owner is on several boards, does speaking engagements etc. Looks like a firm not to mess with. If I had to guess, I would say they are trying to collect for Discover.Anyhoo, guess I'll have to talk to them and let them know I'm filing in January. Hope I can hold them off that long.

    Anyone hear of them ??

Yeah I've heard of them. No big deal. I don't think they are that scary!! All these "law firms" in the debt collection game these days try to make themselves seem scary - after all that is their ONE AND ONLY weapon to make the consumer PAY UP.

Send them a Debt Validation letter, also stating you no longer wish to be contacted by telephone at home or work or in any way whatsoever AND also mention you are in the process of retaining an attorney to commence Ch 7 bankruptcy proceedings.

99.5% chance you will probably never hear from them again.

    End of story.
Stopped paying c. cards February 2009
    Retained attorney 11/5/09 - $100k in C.Card debt - $120000 per year income - Filed Feb 2010 - 341 Apr 2010 - No Asset Case/Report of No Dist Apr 2010 - Discharged June 2010
    Case went without a hitch!
I HELD MY HEAD HIGH IN THAT COURTROOM AND NOW I AM MOVING ON!

I must say "albacore" your pin ups get better every day. Now that's my favorite. You have great taste in women. 'Hub

P.S. refer any calls to your attorney (when you get one) even if you haven't filed yet.
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Yes they came after me. Nasty as hell too... Sent them the letter and have not heard boo since. Have since found out they sent my account back to the original creditor (Bank of America) - balance $28,000.

If they wanna sue there is nothing they can take! If they sue before we file we'll answer the complaint as many times as we can to ward off the hearing and by that time it will be time to file (end Jan)
