    Settlement offers, experience

THis might be in the wrong section but I thought it would be cool to compile an up to date "settlement offers" section for Credit cards...What the offers are and who is easier to work with than others...I'll start:

Citibank: offered 0% for 12 months...very easy to deal with (huge pmt decrease)

Bank of America: offered 5.25% for life..pretty easy to deal with

Chase: Offered 65% of balance lump sum, or ridiculous pmt plans...horrible to deal with

Wells Fargo: no offers yet...but stated they do NOT settle for pennies on dollar, very pleasant to deal with so far.

When I was looking at BK but otherwise not late on any payments to any credit cards citi offered a 4.5% rate on a 18% card for 12 months without too much hassle.

Chase would only work with Take Charge America to reduce the rate, but they gave them a 0% and sent me a letter with the new terms so I had proof of it. They had bumped my rate from 5% to 32% for one late payment as they website was down the day my payment was due and would not process it.( yea I could have paid it the day before but o well)

BOA offered 3% with TCA and again refused to talk with me directly regarding any plan. In the end they gave me 1%.

HSBC would not work with anything and in fact kept sending my statements and emails after I filed.

Capital one I never had to deal with and I left them out of the TCA plan as it was at 3.9% and seemed there was no need to put them in the plan. The week I filed they had sent a letter out saying they were bumping my rate to 18%. I chuckled thinking a bit too late there...

As an FYI TCA did great by me, I did BK as a family member decided to sue me virtually out of nowhere for 30K a few months after the TCA plan was setup. TCA did refund the last two payments I had made to them after I filed BK with no issues whatsoever.

Again I was never "late" on any credit card with these plans so YMMV.
