    chase is retarded

So today i get a letter from chase dated 10/21/09 that states as follows :

A thorough investigation was completed in response to your inquiry reguarding your account.

We have determined that the account balance is accurate

    Please send payment immediatly.

Now thats funny. my records show no such request went directly to chase. however on 10/16, i did send a DV to Client Services, which did not even list an account # so I have no Idea if chase is responding for Client Services

    What jack holes

I would just re-DV them. They just gave you another 30 days to plan for you bk.

i'm not sure who to DV. You can't DV the original creditor. The letter from the CA listed no account # so i can only assume, the chase letter was in answer to the DV request to the CA, but it was a sure damn fast response if it was. I'll just let it be, they will probably move it to a new CA in a few weeks anyway.

I think you could probably DV the CA again, or wait until it moves to a new CA. Either way this seems like early stage collection activity which won't be an immediate threat.

I'm getting about 20 calls a day from them, while still getting pre-approved applications in the mail. There are so many different branches and divisions that the left hand truely does not know what the right hand is doing.

Yes, that's absolutely true. Chase is really several banks that still have separate systems. Chase is: Chase, Chemical bank, BankOne, and First USA, just to name a few....

Just curious, did the letter list your balance or have statements etc attached?

For an OC, "Yeah, we looked and our numbers are right." seems like an awfully lame response to a DV.

Yep...just about everybody here has had to deal with collections.

Keep reading and ask questions to learn how to deal with them.

The original letter from Client Services came with a balance listed but no account #. The letter from Chase came with no statements

BTW- Got another letter from Client Services yesterday. My Crap 1 account has landed there.

Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

I hope you are taping all of those prepaid return evelopes to bricks or better yet cinder blocks and mailing them back!

                              so today I get a second letter from Chase that reads like this;

                              Dear Deadbeat,

We recently received your letter regarding your account.

Chase is considered the original creditor under the FDCPA and not a debt collector. As the original creditor, chase has provided monthly billing statements on your account. Please be advised we will not provide further response to letters requesting documentation. etc etc etc.

These people are nuts. i did not send them a letter.

However, i show this account with Client Services, a CA, and yes i sent them a DV. I guess this is just Chase's way of getting around validating the debt.
