I have not heard of them, but there all kinds of these little buggers popping up everywhere. Get their address and send a FOAD letter. There a lot "financial management companies," and "##### receivables companies" out there now. Most of them are debt collectors. They just don't know it.

I dealt with them, they are a-holes...I ended up going back and forth with them for about 6 months. Finally settled on the CapitalOne account for about 50% of the balance.

jw, this seems really sad. Some of the last offers I had from C1 were close to 30 cents on the dollar. I told them no thanks. I mean WTH, your credit is already trashed.

There is a value to peace of mind...I just received an offer from B of A for $4,000 on a $13,000 debt...wish I had the money.

I applaud you for your attempts. Perhaps it will all work out. In particular, if you are BK 13 material, and have whittled your debt down to nearly nothing, your BK 13 might get paid off rather soon. If you are BK 7 material, you may have wasted 10's of thousands of dollars and your credit is still trashed. Look, these companies had no problem accepting tax-payer dollars to bail their asses out. Don't think that paying your debt is necessarily the honorable thing to do. You are a taxpayer. You, your children, or grandchildren, etc may have already "paid" debt, and unwillingly accepted more debt through your elected officials.

I will be stuck in a 100% 13, so I think it makes sense to knock this down if I can...I don't want to debate the politics of any of this, I only care about my quality of life. The way I look at it my options are to pay it all back in a 13, which from my estimation is a form of house arrest or pay back 35 or 40% back.

you are not in much different of a place than I am/was. In my position 25% wage garnishment was better than the 45% - 60% of disposable earnings I would fork over in a 100% BK 13 for five years. I can continue to let this ride for several years, if necessary.

I got two messages from them today, at least I am pretty sure it is Global based on my googling of the phone number they left in the message --- 1-866-915-5209.

Some guy left a message in a very aggressive tone of voice... I am used to getting collections calls but this one got my attention just because his voice sounded so sleazy and hostile.

He didn't leave his name or company, this is all he said:

"Even after my initial intervention, you still neglect to address your responsibility. At this point you have left me no alternative but to revoke your ability to resolve this situation voluntarily and this will be my final correspondence before forwarding my recommendation. If you wish to exercise your right to rectify the outstanding issue you or your appointed representative must establish contact my office to make arrangements prior to 4 p.m. eastern standard time tomorrow. Contact me at 1-866-915-5209 immediately. Please be advised that this may be your final opportunity to resolve this matter voluntarily."

Yet the caller ID on my phone said the call came from 321-251-1102 which is an Orlando area number. Go figure.

I actually thought his choice of language was kind of laughable -- "his initial intervention?" My "ability to resolve the situation voluntarily?" "Establish contact with his office?" .... But no way am I calling them back! LOL

If they are linked to Cap One, that would make sense since I have two Cap One accounts that are just over a year past due.

Whoa, Blue Martini! Have you received written info from them related to this alleged debt? Did you respond within 30 days with a DV request?

While I agree that the voice mail is very, very funny, you still need to stand up for your rights as a consumer. Hell, I'd call them back and demand they send me information via USPS mail service. But then, this is just me. I have no issue calling CA's, JDB's, or Collection attorneys back in order to exercise my rights.

You can ignore them, as many have done, o ryou cna choose to take the offensive against the enemy.

Just an opinion. I'm not an attorney. However, not paying a dime for 2-3 years on many accounts and surviving collection attorneys is well within tmy experience. Your mileage may vary, but ignorance may catch you must sooner than you are prepared to deal with it.

They were very aggressive with me as well...when I offered to settle for much less than what they claimed I owed, they started really getting bad. I finally told her that I could pay her that much or a lawyer...her choice. After she spoke with "her supervisor" they settled.

Yeah, that souds somewhat like the message they left on mine. They called twice in 10 minutes, but it was a recorded message, right before 6 pm. well see if they call tonight. I checked their web page and they list Crap 1 as a top customer. it's funny though as crap 1 is still leaving me a daily recorded message from Andy. Looks like Hot Linda gave up trying to hook up with me

Maybe they have changed to handy-andy. Perhaps they are all alchemists, turning water into gold. Several times in the past I would receive dunning letters on a Crap1 accunt from CA's while Crap1 was also attempting to contact me. With millions of defaults and "lates," it is no wonder that C1 can keep up with anything they are doing. Note that any news related to C1 is generally under the radar, but they do appear to be having some problems, See my post under BK news.
