I started the thread titled "Judgement, now what" that quickly turned really ugly and got closed. Here is my update. It turns out they don't actually have the judgement, yet. They have requested one, and could get it any day. I called the attorney's office, and they have agreed to accept payments of $100 a month. I really just need to buy myself some time to get my income down. My attorney said this was great as long as I don't sign anything. Also, I will be paying them with a money order. I told them I don't have a checking account anymore. So what do you all think of this? I really just want to retain some control over the situation, and avoid having my husbans served at work. Also, my attorney said in California I would be given ten days notice, and could go file an exemtion form before any garnishment occured, but I would rather just stall and pay a little for now.

I apologize for Forum misbehaviors of some folks. This is controlled very well.
Now, before you can ever get a Judgment, you must be served a summons for a hearing for a suit. If you have not, you don't yet have a Judgment. If you do not show for the hearing a default Judgment in their favor will be granted.
Make sure you do not ignore these summons as a Judgment can be a real pain in your azz. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.
