Stopping OC from calling at work

One caveat I might add to Big John's informative post:
It is STILL POSSIBLE that you granted the OC the right to contact you at work. It may be hidden somewhere in the fine print. Not sure if John addressed this in his post, but it could complicate things. I imagine most lenders with any sort of legal dept. would immediately have added this clause, at least after the date of the new law.
Of course, the other parts of his post, the annoying and unwelcome calls would surely apply. Enforcing the law is another matter entirely, and could be hideously difficult.11-20-09-- Filed Chapter 7

It all depends upon how agressive your state's enforcement agency is. I'm not out to sue anyone, but I am willing to spend a few minutes with state offices requesting their assistance. I feel fortunate to live in a state that has one of the highest employment rates, bases their revenue on individual income taxes, and is ready to go after any revenue potential ripe for the picking.
