My wife stopped paying the AMEX card back in late 2007. We got sent to 2 diff CA's, made $100/month payments with one of them for 8 months. We then got sent to a different CA and then to yet another CA. Right now we are on the 4th or 5th CA. This is in the $12K ballpark so I wonder why AMEX hasn't filed a law suit yet. Not that I want them to, I am just curious as to why.
Maybe it's because my wife makes a low salary, around $20K/year?
Maybe it's because her student loan payments devour 80% of her take home pay?
Maybe it's because NC is a non-community property state and doesn't allow wage garnishments for CC debt?
Maybe it's because we have very little equity in our home?
I see many posts here where many CC companies sue at the drop of a hat. Just wondering what AMEX is thinking.
