    Creditor came to my job

I'm going to be filing BK 13 in a few weeks. I have about a $450 loan out with this local finance company and I'm not even 30 days past due yet and he showed up at my job today. Is this legal? I was so freakin mad and embarrassed because it caught me off guard and he was sitting there waiting by the receptionist desk. I walked half way over to him and he came up to me and I immediatly said I will come to your office now please go. He was trying to talk to me and I shooed him way and asked him to leave. I had to pretend like he was a customer and told the receptionist he came for a package.
I was so mad I was shaking.

It's perfectly legal under the FDCPA since he is the creditor and not a debt collector. Some states have additional protections to those in the FDCPA, though, so it might be worth your while to check state law.

    Which state are you in?
Pay no attention to anything I post. I graduated last in my class from a fly-by-night law school that no longer exists; I never studied or went to class; and I only post on internet forums when I'm too drunk to crawl away from the computer.

I'm in Illinois. I wish it was ilegal because that just seems a little crazy. I can see if I was over 30 days late or close to two months behind, but less than 30 days..WOW.

I had a banker show up at my business. My wife was running the store and just before I entered the store, I talked to her on the phone. Just as I opened the back door, one of her friends met me and told me not to come in.

How my wife was able to get her friend to go to the door when the banker was standing right in front of her was she and her friend can speak a foreign language.

Wow, I thought I was safe at work..at least I can send them to voicemail when they call but how do I hide at my own job..LOL. Well I'm happy to say that I'm going on vacation in a few days. So I will be away from work for two weeks and when I get back it's filing time...so they can visit my job all they want, I won't be there. This will be avery budgeted vacation, but very well needed. I probably won't be able to take another one for the next 3-5 years.
