    Settlement Offer

    Nationwide Credit (Amex) offered 20% on $12900 I told them I'd think and to call me tomorrow. I then called BOFA they offered to settle 71k at 25%. Don't flame me I know the arguments against doing this. I just thought I would share this so others have an idea of amounts.

    Is Nationwide Credit the CA and AMEX still technically owns the debt?

    My wife has a 13K debt with AMEX that is now with a CA/Law Firm and I would jump all over 20% to get rid of this monkey on our back. So far, no settlement was offered.

      Amex still owns the debt, it got handed over this Saturday. I saw that Nationwide pulled my credit and I answered the call knowing it was them. I told him I couldn't make a payment the next words out of his mouth was how about 20 cents on the dollar in three payments. Not bad considering I've never discussed settlement with any of my creditors. I think from my past discussions with Amex they knew I don't have any qualms about filing bk. Good Luck
