My wife and I officially filed chapter 7 last week so Ive been answering the phone to tell debt collectors and for the most part they have all been chitty with me but oh well. well yesterday morning our CU called and wanted to know where my payment for my truck was {only about 3 weeks late on it} I told them we filed BK,she asked if we where going to reafirm the truck and I said no. so I asked when they where going to come and get the truck and she said they couldnt do anything until after the stay was lifted and told me to enjoy the truck until then and to remember them when Im ready to get a new vehicle..thought that was kinda odd.
and then some collection agency called me and wanted there money so I told them I filed and he was actually very nice about it. after I gave him my lawyers info and case number he acted like he was trying to make me feel better or something..what he said kinda went like this..."well dont beat yourself up over having to file BK,I was forced to do the same thing last year and its nothing to be ashamed about. I have removed your name from our daily call list so you wont have to worry about us calling every day" wow! why couldnt they all be that nice lol and today not 1 single call from anyone! was sooooo nice!!!!!
