How Many Calls A Day Do You Get?

I'm averaging about 20 calls a day...the max being 35 on a weekend day a couple months back

I save the number, and set it to a silent ringer... so when they call back, nothing happens.

Wow! My first missed payment was on June 15, so I am waiting for the phone to start ringing. How many creditors do you have?

I only got about 10 calls a day. Thirteen creditors in all. Always had the ringer OFF and made sure my out-going message stated my full name. Never once (in those first 2 months) did I answer the phone. Of course, now they have my lawyers name and number so the calls have stopped.

Two of my creditors had my work number so that was a huge pain. And Chase, who I have 2 cards with, would leave messages on my parents answering machine looking for me. My parents are 80 years old and live 600 miles away from me. I told my mom...the next time they call just give them my home phone number and then hang up. She didn't need to give them any other information than that. Two days later Chase showed up on my caller ID. My mom never heard from them again.

I continue to get the sense that Chase, USBank, AMEX, etc are not beyond making calls to the numbers referenced on the orginal applcations. I know the FDCPA refers only to third-party collectors, but I would guess that in most states, the consumer can notify the OC of how they can br contacted and make it cler that ANY correspodence related to the alleged debt must come through debotr. The cost of a $.44 stamp is well worth the effort to shut down all callls to you or third-party CA's.

If you are getting 20-35 calls a day talk to them once and do not agree to anything. Tell them that the calls are too much and they need to stop calling so many times..

If that does not work you can send them a cease and desist, but that will only stop calls and mailings. It will not stop a lawsuit.

some of my 22 cards just passing 90 days. at first it was citi-chase calling mostly. then wells fargo seemed to be relentless, sometimes every 15 minutes, and i can always depend on the 1 call from Hot Linda at cap 1 daily, but this week the calls dropped way off less than 5 a day.

How do you look for a job with your phone turned off? (that was MY problem)

I bought a $25 phone at walmart and let my sprint/nextel go into collections. That was 2 years ago and I never got another call from a CA to this day.

Now zero, but when I got into trouble paying my car payment HSBC auto called NO LESS THAN once every hour starting @ 830am and ending around 830pm. Before I even got into 'trouble' paying and was just paying on my payday, which fell sometimes a day or two after the due date, they'd start calling THE DAY AFTER THE DUE DATE every hour.

Initially with Wells Fargo home mortgage, they'd call starting on the 2nd of the month (payment due on the 1st) til I called and told them that based on my payday, I would have to pay on a different day. I begged them to change my due date, but they refused stating that it wasn't their policy to amend the due date. I explained to them that the payment would always be paid before being 30 days late, but always past the 1st. They stopped calling after that.

Nobody ever called relatives that I know of, but people have called me looking for my mom and ex husband on on occasion even though I haven't lived with either of them in MANY years. I assume the skip chasers identify the association and call every # they can.

HSBC sucks. I just spent an hour with those jack holes trying to figure out why they wont accept an electronic transfer from my credit union bill pay to pay my HELOC. Nothing resolved and you cant pay mortgage on line. My last 2 payments were late because the CU had to send a paper check and I got a late fee. screw em.

I defaulted on CCs from 2006. I never answered the phone. I turned the ringers off and kept the phone line for DSL and outgoing calls only. Since the ringers are off, I can't tell how many calls I'm getting per day, but someone is still calling.

The disadvantage to not talking to them is that they bombed my neighbors with calls in an attempt to locate me. My neighbors were never on any paperwork connected with this. It was pure harassment. They knew my phone number and address. At first my neighbors were steamed at me. I can understand how they felt. But after awhile, they realized I wasn't responsible for the harassment. I felt sorry I caused this to happen to them.

Last year, I got a pay as you go phone, so I could receive calls. I used an anonymous name and address, when I signed up with Virgin Mobile. But the collectors found me! I'm pretty sure Virgin Mobile associated my payment info with my account and released this to the collectors. I thought my payment info (bank account info) was confidential and couldn't be released without my permission. I guess I was wrong? So I changed my phone number with them. Three days later, the collection calls started again. If you go with Virgin Mobile, because they are the cheapest (minimum $20 every 3 months which rolls over), never use a debit or credit card for payment. Always use those top up cards you buy in stores.

I would get anywhere from 10-20 calls a day prior to filing for my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. If any of you have a Blackberry there is this neat program called Black and White list. Its offers all kinds of features and any number that isn't on your phone list it automatically sends it to v-mail. It was great to use before I filed as previously my phone was ringing off the hook. I also sent many certified mailed Cease and desist letters to collectors and it shut them up pretty quickly

Wow, for 10 oc's I was receiving 80-100 calls per day for the longest time. I gave all the numbers a "Mute" ring tone on my phone, so they didn't bother me much. By the time we filed June 5th we were down to maybe 30 calls a day - since filing we're down to less than 10 a day, except the calls finally ALL stopped late last week. It only took them 3 weeks from filing to stop calling, but I am still getting late notices here and there, as recently as two days ago! In comparison to everyone else here, it looks like they REALLY thought we would pay if they bugged us enough!

We are behind now almost 8 months, many are in the hands of CA's, they barely call at all, like once or twice. But there are weeks that go by without a single phone call. I talk to them or call them back, and inform them I am filing a bankruptcy soon. I also send out DV's to them on a regular basis. So far the phone calls are less than what they were when the OC had the account still.

I have a couple more months to go, and then I will be filing.

I cant thank people enough on here, for telling me not to worry about getting sued, because it hasnt happened yet, and if it does, it will be too late for them anyway.

Mine have dropped way off over the last week. just passing 90 days on most accounts except Wells fargo, and of all of them Wells has been the most annoying calling every 15 minutes on home, work, cell #'s.
